File Type Options

Picasa supports a variety of common picture and movie file types.  Picasa always displays JPEG files, and you can choose which other file types you want to show.

To set your File Type Options

  1. Choose Options from the Tools menu. The Options dialog appears with the General tab selected.

  2. Click the File Types tab.

  3. Put a check next to each file type you want Picasa to recognize, and click OK.

Picasa supports most common image file types including JPEG (.jpg), RAW format (.CRW, .NEF, and others), TIFF (.tif), bitmap (.bmp), GIF (.gif), 8-bit Adobe Photoshop files (.psd), PNG (.png), and movie formats (.AVI, .MPG, .ASF, .WMV, .MOV).
